Since I was busy drafting my new YA fantasy novel this summer, I didn’t do my usual themed book months for June and July. Instead, I read a hodgepodge of writing resource books (to help get me through the WIP) and YA novels (to help get me into the teenage mindset).

  • Description and Setting by Ron Rozelle (writing craft)
  • Writing Great Books for Young Adults by Regina Brooks (writing craft)
  • Writing the Breakout Novel by Donald Maass (writing craft)
  • Hooked by Les Edgerton (writing craft)
  • The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot (YA contemporary)
  • The Glass Casket by McCormick Templeman (YA dark fantasy)
  • The Creeping by Alexandra Sirowy (YA horror)
  • Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson (YA contemporary)

The WIP in still keeping me busy, but I should have more time for reading next month. Moving on to Beloved Author August!
